Narrative
A collection of narrative short films I have created.
Just Have to Check (2022)
Just Have to Check depicts some of my experience with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It was created as the first of two films for the course Digital Storytelling at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Overstimulated (2022)
Selected for UAB’s 47th Annual Juried Student Exhibition
Overstimulated began as a relatively simple montage assignment., asking us to create a metric montage that tells a story. with metric montage, there are no musical cues, but I realized that I may be able to change the tempo of the cuts to create an interesting effect.
I was sitting in the library trying to figure out what this change in pacing could be applied to, when all of the sudden I realized how frustrated I was becoming with all of the little noises around me. Thus, the idea for Overstimulated was created.
Figure (2023)
Figure was created as the final project for a Special Topics course about Cinematography. The partner I was working with really liked horror, so together we came up with the idea to use the studio I work in and play into the creepy feelings that comes from working in the dark.
Documentary
A collection of documentary shorts I have either created or co-created.
Runtime: 13:47
Looking for a Reason is an examination of the bridge between documentary and personal storytelling.
Originally intended to be a sequel to the first film created as part of the course Digital Storytelling, it quickly became a peek behind the scenes as my mental health declined prior to principal photography.
The film includes interviews with my friend from high school and my mother.

Community in Recovery (2021)
Runtime: 8:47
This film was created for the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) as part of UAB’s ethnographic filmmaking course.
It is an examination of the CRC’s struggles with attendance and funding as society had yet to adapt to a world-wide pandemic.
I created this film with partners Desean Motley and Rose Cowart.
Runtime: 1:31
This film was created as a sense of place film for Ethnographic filmmaking in the spring of 2021.
I worked with the owners of an antiquities store in Birmingham, AL, called ‘What’s on Second’ to create this short. I also worked directly with musician Amy Turk to get access to the score.
